Emily+Vince | Engagement | Country Club Plaza KC

I met my new friends Emily and Vince down on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City for their engagement session. We started at the site of their proposal which took place just a couple of weeks prior. The plaza provided a beautiful backdrop for their session, with the Christmas lights still all aglow. As we walked, they told me the story of their proposal, complete with a carriage ride and Vince’s brother waiting in the wings to snap of photo of the big moment. It is such a gift to have this as a profession, capturing these big moments for couples and being a small part of their love story. Here’s a few of my favorites from their session. Enjoy!

Laura+Tristan | Wedding Photography

Rarely do I look back on a wedding album or wedding day, and think that there isn’t anything I would change, But Laura and Tristan’s day was pretty damn near perfect! A lot of times I’m wishing it was a different venue, or that we had a different/better spot for portraits, or better lighting etc. You know all the normal photography gripes, but this day from start to finish from the wedding details, to the getting ready bridal suite, to portrait locations, to the best bride and groom and wedding party a photographer could ask for, it was all PERFECT! Laura and Tristan got ready at Hotel KC in downtown Kansas City, and got married just down the street at the Little Theatre at the convention center. Here’s a couple hundred of our favorite’s from Laura and Tristan’s wedding day in downtown Kansas City.

Madison+Charlie | Kansas City Wedding

This was one of my favorite weddings EVER! Madison and Charlie tied the knot at The Maverick in Kansas City and we were there to capture all of the magic. Madison and Charlie are the sweetest couple and we loved the time that we got to spend with them on their wedding day! The Maverick is the absolute perfect venue for a wedding. So stylish and spacious and right in the middle of all the downtown action, so there are so many opportunities for awesome urban portraits. Here’s a couple hundred of our early favorites from Madison and Charlie’s Wedding Day! Enjoy…

Tyler+Kelly | Marriage Proposal in the Park | Kansas City

My new friend Tyler recently messaged me about putting a plan together to propose to his girlfriend Kelley while they were visiting Kansas City. We worked out a date where I could squeeze in a proposal on a Saturday before a wedding, and we decided to do it at Loose Park just off the Plaza in Kansas City. Our plan was to have the proposal done on the south bridge by the duck ponds, and as I arrived I really had to be careful not to blow my cover with Kelley. I kept my distance and took pictures of ducks, waiting for my cue and watching them out of the corner of my eye. It was a delicate balance to strike but it worked out absolutely perfectly. Enjoy these few frames from Tyler and Kelley’s Kansas City Marriage Proposal.

Abbey | Bridals

I’ve been waiting to post these photos from Abbey’s bridal session for a couple of weeks now. We did a bridal session with Abbey a couple of weeks pre-wedding, and didn’t want to reveal the dress until the big day, which was yesterday. A bridal session is the perfect way to do a trial run for your hair and makeup, final dress fitting, and just be a little more thorough with portraits of the bride. We will spend time with just you on your wedding day, but a bridal session gives us so much more freedom to be creative without all the added distractions of the wedding day. Abbey and Andrew got married at the glass chapel in Bella Vista, Arkansas. Those pictures will be coming soon:) Enjoy

Lisa+Trae | Kansas City Wedding

Lisa and Trae got married at the Emerald Event Center in Blue Springs, Missouri. It was an intimate ceremony surrounded by a few of their closest family and friends. Here are a few of our favorites from their wedding day. Enjoy!

Amanda+Aaron | Kansas City Wedding

Amanda and Aaron got married on June 7, 2024 in an intimate ceremony in downtown Kansas City at Hotel Phillips. I love a downtown/urban wedding so much and this one was the stuff dreams are made of. Fantastic weather, great scenery, awesome bride and bridal party….we had it all! Amanda and Aaron first met in the lobby at the President Hotel so it was important to them that we also incorporate some of those aesthetics in and around the historic spot where they first laid eyes on each other. We did their getting ready portraits at the President as well as some of their bridal party pictures out in front of the hotel and inside the lobby.

Sandlot Boys | Baxter Springs

When Abbey asked me to do a Sandlot inspired photoshoot for the boys little league team, the answer was a very excited YES! This was such a fun time getting to capture this moment in the boys lives. It was such a nostalgic experience for me, remembering those times with my friends and team mates as a child. Also, it brings me great joy to see the youth still enjoying and quoting the same movie we coveted in our childhood. These photos are some of my favorites ever. Here’s a few of our favorites from the baseball sandlot session.

Campbell | Senior Portraits

When I saw that the carnival was in town, I knew just who to ask to model for this senior portrait session. Campbell is a senior at Fredonia High School in Kansas, and she is one of our all time favorite seniors we’ve had the pleasure of photographing. She is just so photogenic an an absolute natural in front of the camera. She’s up for all my crazy ideas and we had so much fun on this shoot. In the fall she will be attending the University of Kansas in Lawrence. Here’s 50 of our favorites from Campbell’s Senior Session.

Brooke+Trent | Kansas City Wedding

Brooke and Trent tied the knot yesterday at The Maverick in downtown Kansas City. It was an absolute pleasure getting to work with them and their families for their wedding day. There’s a lot of different variables that go into what makes a wedding day great from a photographer’s standpoint, and this day had them all. I’m talking the best bride and groom and bridal party you could ask for, an absolutely stunning and versatile wedding venue like The Maverick, party bus rides, the most extravagant wedding cake I’ve ever seen, delicious food plus a late night snack, complimentary flip flops for dancing, an epic sendoff and soooo much more. More photos coming soon, but…

Here are just a few early favorites from Brooke and Trents Kansas City Wedding.

Laura+Blake | Missouri Wedding

Laura and Blake got married on at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Joplin. They are just the sweetest couple imaginable and it was an absolutely joy to photograph them and their wedding party, friends, and family. These sweethearts met while attending The University of Kansas pharmacy school. When Covid hit, instead of returning home to Washington state, where she’s from, Laura decided to move in with Blake and his family in Scammon, Kansas. The rest as they say, is history. The thing I love most about this couple is how they look at each other, and interact with each other. How much Laura is always smiling when she’s around Blake. At the end of a long day of picture taking, Blake says to Laura, “here, let me take a mental picture”, as he holds up an invisible camera and creates a snapshot for just him to remember the moment and the best day. It’s days like this that remind me why I do what I do. Here’s a couple hundred of our early favorites from Laura and Blake’s wedding day:)

Shaley+Jackson | Wedding Photography | Heritage Ranch, Sedalia, Missouri

Shaley and Jackson got married at Heritage Ranch in Sedalia, Missouri on April 27, 2024. Here’s a couple hundred of our favorite photos :)

Katrina+Brandon | Engagement Session | Garden City, Bentonville, Arkansas

I met my new friends Katrina and Brandon at the Garden City Nursery in Bentonville, Arkansas. I was so excited to get to do this session. I’ve been photographing couples for 12 years, and somehow never done a greenhouse photo shoot. This place was such an awesome place to take engagement photos. It had so many indoor and outdoor options surrounded by different colorful floral scenery. The ferns were my favorite if you couldn’t tell. Enjoy a few of our favorite frames from this engagement session:)

Kendall+Brody | Wedding

Kendall & Brody got married in Ft. Scott, Kansas in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family. We explored the downtown brick streets for portraits of the bridal party and they did not disappoint. Ft. Scott has a very rich history and it’s downtown provides a very unique backdrop for bridal party pictures. Crooner’s was our location for ceremony and reception, and they were absolutely perfect from start to finish. I’ve done almost 500 weddings and tbh, most of the time the food is just kinda ok (don’t kill me in the comments), but the spread that Crooners laid out was immaculate. Definitely a top 3 wedding food all time for me!! I can’t wait to go back there. Kendall and Brody were amazing to work with, but the real star of the show was their girl Swayze. Swayze was absolutely in her element all day long. She danced the night away and we’ve got the pictures to prove it. In the made of honor speech given by the brides sister, we learned that Swayze is going to be a big sister, and we even got a gender reveal when they cut the cake. It’s a girl!! Congratulations Kendall and Brody!!! Here’s a couple hundred of our favorite’s so far from their wedding day!

Boudoir Photography - Behind the Scenes

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. Boudoir photography as a male photographer. It’s not the easiest sale I’ve ever made, asking women to be comfortable enough to let me do their boudoir photos. More likely than not, I’ve eliminated myself from about 90% of the market of those who would do boudoir photography. But for that 10% of women who would consider me as their boudoir photographer, I do everything in my power to provide a comfortable, safe, and fun environment where you feel empowered and leave feeling confident in yourself, loving yourself, and happy that you had the experience.

Alexa+Gabe | Engagement

I met my new friends Alexa and Gabe in one of my favorite photo spots for their engagement session. The two of them are naturals in front of the camera and with each other. They are constantly smiling at each other which makes a photographers job 10x easier :) They brought along their sweet pup Ruby and she makes a special appearance in lots of these frames. I love it when people incorporate family pets into any type of session, but especially an engagement. Here’s 73 of my favorite frames from Alexa and Gabe’s winter time engagement session. Enjoy!
